Shanice Singletary

Shanice Singletary is an insightful scriptwriter with a focus in dramatic stories that deal with the effects of mental illness, mental and sexual abuse, addiction, and many other subjects. It is her willingness to broach those difficult subjects, that she hopes will not only give her audience an interesting read but allow them to gain insight as well. 

Shanice's journey as a writer began in high school, when she joined her high school’s poetry club. The desire to become a writer bloomed, but had to be put on hold a she pursued other life choices. She decided to return to her passion of storytelling after serving five years in the Army. She earned her B.F.A in Creative Writing for Entertainment at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. She’s currently adapting her short story, Premeditated, into a short film that she plans to write, direct, and produce. The story follows Gina, an abused housewife, as she details the events that lead to her husband's death.

Shanice’s motivation is and will always be, her daughter. She wants her daughter to see that dreams can become reality. They both reside in Atlanta, GA.
